Become a Fish Buyer

What you need

Brixham Fish Market operates in a business-to-business environment and is only
open to the general public during one of our regular Fish Market Tours.
If you operate a business and want to buy fish from the market then there are
certain criteria to be met before that can happen. You / your business must:

Obtain a fish buyers licence* from Torbay Council Harbour Authority.
Register with Environmental Health.
Contact Brixham Trawler Agents to set up a Bond or Guarantee with your
bank (or a cash bond) to cover the value of the fish you want to buy.

The auctioneers will be able to talk you through the process and advise with regard to:

Setting up an account
Agreeing the value of Bond required and how to set this up with your bank
Discussing bank account details for weekly payments

The criteria set by the licence includes 7 day payment terms. If your Bond value is reached before this time, additional payments to reduce the amounts owed will be required.
